The 42nd match of the IPL 2026 tournament has become a cause of controversy. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore team, batting first, was all out for 155 runs. During this innings, there was an uproar on the wicket of captain Rajat Patidar. Actually, Jason Holder had taken the catch of Patidar, but while completing the catch, Holder had placed the ball on the ground. In this regard, Virat Kohli was also seen arguing with the umpire near the boundary.
Was Rajat Patidar out? why the ruckus
This matter is of the 8th over of RCB’s innings. Arshad Khan was bowling and on the fourth ball of the over, Rajat Patidar hit an aerial shot on the leg side. The timing of Patidar’s shot was not good, so the ball went in the air. Jason Holder came running and took a great catch by diving.
Of course, Jason Holder’s catch was brilliant, but the uproar is that while completing the catch, he had placed the ball on the ground. But the third umpire said that the ball was completely under Holder’s control and his fingers were under the ball.

Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar were also seen arguing with the umpire. During the Hindi commentary, Mohammad Kaif also said that perhaps the ball had hit the ground, that is why there was an uproar over Holder’s catch.
