In IPL 2026, all the players of the team will wear jersey number 11 during practice before every match. On June 4 last year, when RCB won its first IPL title, there was a stampede due to the huge crowd during the celebrations at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 11 fans lost their lives in this tragic accident. Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players will wear the number 11 jersey during pre-match practice in the next season of IPL in memory of the 11 people killed in the stampede during the team's victory last year. RCB won the IPL trophy for the first time last year. To celebrate this victory, a program was organized at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 4th June. Due to lack of proper security arrangements, a stampede broke out in which 11 people died. After this, RCB was criticized a lot.
RCB CEO Rajesh Menon told reporters on Tuesday that the players will wear the number 11 jersey during practice on the match day. At the time of the match, he will play in his original jersey number only. During practice, the number 11 will be written on the back of all the players. He said that apart from this, players will also wear a black band on their arm on that day.

11 seats will be immortal
We are also thinking of making 11 permanent seats in Chinnaswamy Stadium. These seats will be for those 11 fans who will always be with us. The defending champions will play their first match here against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28, which will be their first of five home matches at this ground. RCB will play its remaining two home matches in this IPL at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.
Full attention will be given to security
Royal Challengers Bangalore CEO Rajesh Menon also said that the franchise has invested around Rs 7 crore to strengthen the crowd management infrastructure in and around the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the current IPL season, RCB will play five matches in this stadium, starting with the opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. Menon said, 'We have spent about Rs 7 crore to improve crowd management, which includes many baggage scanners and command centres.'
He said that despite the cancellation of the popular pre-season 'Unbox' event, the spectators will be ensured a safe and comfortable experience at the stadium. Menon said, 'We have greatly strengthened the crowd management measures. An AI-based CCTV system has been installed throughout the stadium, concourses and surrounding areas, which is powered by an AI tool called 'JARVIS'. According to Menon, 'The franchise has followed all the standards set by the Karnataka government and the High Court.'
Menon said that the entry and exit system at the stadium has also been redesigned so that the crowd at the gate can be controlled. On the match day, ticket holders will be given access to the metro service, parking can be booked in advance and all gates will be opened four hours before the start of the match.
