New Delhi. On Saturday, a big controversy broke out during the IPL 2026 match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals (DC) at MA Chidambaram Stadium. It was shown on TV that DC coach Hemang Badani, batsmen Nitish Rana and Karun Nair were arguing with the officials in the decisive over of the match. When his team failed to chase the target. Former CSK batsman Faf du Plessis later told that the DC camp was upset with Tristan Stubbs for not being allowed to change his gloves.
This proved to be the decisive moment of the match as Stubbs was out on the very next ball. Due to which Delhi Capitals remained at 183/8 while chasing the target of 213 runs. Delhi needed 29 runs from 10 balls, when Stubbs signaled to change gloves. The fourth umpire rejected his demand, leading to a heated argument at the side of the field. This incident quickly went viral on social media. Stubbs tried to avoid defeat for DC by playing an inning of 60 runs in 38 balls.
