Pant praised
After the sixth consecutive defeat at home, captain Rishabh Pant admitted that the team failed to capitalize on the opportunities it got in the match, due to which it had to suffer the consequences. Pant did not take the name of the famous Krishna, but he praised Gujarat’s bowling. The Lucknow captain said after the match, ‘Look, the runs were obviously not enough. There is no doubt that he bowled well. I think a score of 170 to 180 would have been a really good score on this kind of wicket. However, they put so much pressure on us that wickets kept falling. Look, like I said, a score of 170 to 180 would definitely have been a good score on this kind of wicket. However, you know that despite this you still have chances to make a comeback in the match. We just could not capitalize on those opportunities properly.
