NEET UG Result Date 2026: This year the journey of NEET UG exam has been a little different. Earlier this examination was held on 3 May 2026, but due to the news of paper leak, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had canceled this examination. After this, the examination was conducted again on June 21, 2026, in which more than 20 lakh students had appeared.
Now lakhs of students are waiting for the result for a long time. Although, NTA has not yet announced any firm date for the result, but according to most reports, the result may be released on or before July 20, 2026. NTA has said in its notice that the final answer key will also be released before the result, on the basis of which marks will be decided.
How to see result
To see the result, first of all you have to go to neet.nta.nic.in website. There you will have to click on the link containing NEET UG 2026 Result, which will appear in the Candidate Activity or News & Events section on the homepage. After this, you will have to fill the application number, date of birth and captcha code given in the admit card and submit it. After this, the scorecard will appear on the screen, which will contain information like name, roll number, marks, percentile, All India Rank and qualification status. It is advised to download and print this scorecard as it will be required in further counseling and admissions.

When will counseling start
After the results are declared, the next big step is counselling. MCC i.e. Medical Counseling Committee conducts counseling for 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats, which also includes seats of AIIMS, JIPMER and central universities. According to various reports, counseling is expected to start around July 21, 2026, although this may change as due to re-examination, the entire schedule is lagging behind by about two months. Counseling will be held in a total of four to five rounds, which include Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round.
After the result, registration for counseling will be online on mcc.nic.in website, where students will have to fill the choice for college and course according to their rank and category.
What can be the possible cutoff?
According to experts’ estimates, the category-wise cutoff for the re-conducted NEET exam could be something like this. The probable cutoff for General (UR) and EWS category students can be between 135 marks out of 700. Whereas for OBC, SC and ST categories it is estimated to be between 150 to 120 marks. The cutoff for UR/EWS-PwD category students can be between 150 to 110 marks, while for OBC/SC/ST-PwD category, it is estimated between 130 to 115 marks. Although this is just an estimate, the actual cutoff will be released by NTA along with the result.
