Naseem Shah out of PSL, PCB preparing to take action: Report

New Delhi. Pakistan’s fast bowler Naseem Shah is once again in trouble. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had imposed a fine of Rs 2 crore on this player for posting social media on a politician. Just a few days later, he has been dropped from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season due to latest fitness problems. The board has become more angry with this development.

According to a report by TelecomAsia.net, Naseem suffered a side strain during the match between Rawalpindi and Karachi Kings last week. After which he could not even play the next match of the team. The PCB is not happy with his recurring fitness problems. It has also been said in the report that the board is now considering further action not only regarding his fitness but also regarding his entire behaviour. Naseem will have to undergo a long rehabilitation process under the supervision of the PCB medical panel.

This matter has come to light at a time when Naseem was fined heavily for criticizing Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. After this incident, PCB had given a strict message to all the centrally contracted players regarding responsible use of social media. Warned that strict action would be taken if the guidelines are violated. Sources told the website, “Naseem suffered a side strain during the match between Rawalpindi and Karachi Kings on Thursday and he could not play the team’s last match, due to which serious questions have been raised on his fitness.”

The report further said, “Naseem’s career has been affected by his off-field behaviour. Excessive attention in advertisements and podcasts has derailed his career. He also missed the 2023 ODI World Cup due to fitness issues. In the next few days, Naseem will appear before a medical panel led by Dr Javed Mughal, as the selection committee is also not happy with his recurring fitness problems.”
