Now if the new rule is implemented, then the companies which have data plans with validity of 7, 28, 56 and 84 days will have to launch voice-only and SMS-only plans along with these validity. With this, users will be able to choose the plan as per their need and will not have to pay extra money for unnecessary data.

According to media reports, TRAI says that users who do not need mobile data should get the option to choose a separate plan only for calling and SMS. Let us tell you that now people are forced to take such plans in which people get data but the user has no need for that data. Keeping this in view, TRAI has made a new proposal that telecom companies should offer only voice and SMS plans with equal validity along with data plans.
