Ishan Kishan's new blast, defeated Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, now Abhishek Sharma's throne on target

Ishan Kishan, who scored 317 runs in the World Cup, has taken a tremendous leap. He has reached his career best second ranking leaving behind Sahibzada Farhan of Pakistan. Now he is only 4 rating points behind Abhishek. This is the first time that two Indian batsmen occupy the top two positions in the ICC T20 rankings.

Abhishek maintained his top position by scoring a quick half-century in the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand, while left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan has now become his closest rival, who has jumped two places by scoring 317 runs in the tournament. Kishan (871 points) has achieved the highest rating of his career and he is just four points behind Abhishek (875 points). New Zealand's Tim Seifert (up four places to sixth) and England's Jacob Bethell (up 17 places to 16th) have also achieved the best ranking of their careers after their stellar performance in the T20 World Cup.

Varun's reign in bowling ends

There has been a change in the rankings of T20I bowlers, where India's spinner Varun Chakraborty has lost the top spot to Afghanistan's Rashid Khan. Chakraborty (740 points), whose bowling mystery has been solved by most of the top batsmen, is now at second place behind Rashid (753 points), while Afghanistan was eliminated in the group stage itself. Chakraborty moved to second place as Rashid regained the No. 1 ranking despite not playing any matches last week.
