Imran Khan Wife Medical Update: A health issue related to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Pakistan is in discussion these days, where Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, had to undergo surgery due to a serious eye problem. According to the jail administration, the vision in his right eye was getting affected, after which he complained that he was immediately examined by an expert. The examination confirmed retinal detachment, which is considered a serious condition related to the eyes.
The team of doctors, which included Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi, treated him and advised surgery. On April 16, he was admitted to a private hospital in Rawalpindi, where after necessary tests, an operation was performed. After the surgery, he was sent back to jail after being kept under observation in the hospital for a night. Doctors have advised to continue regular checkups and care in future also.
What is retinal detachment?
According to clevelandclinic, an organization providing information about health, retinal detachment is a condition in which the very sensitive layer present at the back of the eye gets separated from its place. This layer works to detect light and transmit it to the brain. If not treated on time, it can permanently impair vision. According to experts, with increasing age, the gel-like substance present inside the eye starts changing, due to which this problem can arise.

In such a situation, the most important thing is immediate identification and treatment. The patient may notice symptoms like sudden blurred vision, seeing things like shadows or flashes in front of the eyes or feeling darkness in some part. As soon as such signs are seen, it is very important to contact an eye specialist without delay.

After surgery care is equally important. It is important for the patient to avoid pressure on the eyes, take medicines as per the doctor’s advice and get tested from time to time. Especially the first few days are very important, because during this time the recovery of the eyes is decided. After Bushra Bibi’s surgery, doctors have advised to continue further monitoring and follow-up. According to the jail administration, his condition is now stable and treatment will continue as per the instructions of the doctors.
Even before this, the team of Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi had examined Imran Khan’s eyes. Meanwhile, amid the matter, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has expressed concern about his health and demanded better treatment.
