IAS Awanish Sharan Weight Loss Journey: The most thing that humans are doing all over the world today is that they want to keep themselves fit somehow. Many people are taking help of gym for this, some are running in the morning and evening, while some are taking help of exercise and yoga. This is because today’s changing lifestyle has increased all types of diseases. Young people are also becoming victims of obesity. Most of the people do not know about what should be eaten and what should not be eaten. In such a situation, some people of the society are motivating people with their fitness. While sharing his fitness journey on the social media platform X, Avnish Sharan said that in the year 2020, when he was 39 years old, he had decided that he wanted to become healthier than before. However, the beginning was not easy. Due to job pressure, family responsibilities and everyday busyness, his routine was broken many times. Then after a surgery in 2024, his fitness journey came to a complete halt. After this, he made a new beginning from June 2025. This time his goal was not just to lose weight, but to make the body healthy both inside and out. He made a simple but strict rule for himself to exercise wisely, eat a balanced diet, get good sleep and repeat this routine every day without stopping.

What is the secret of his fitness?

He made strength training a part of his routine five to six days a week. Gradually increase the intensity of the workout to keep the muscles strong. Also did cardio exercise, but kept its focus limited. Daily walking became an essential part of his daily routine. Along with this, equal attention was also paid to the recovery and stretching of the body, so that fitness remains for a long time.

What was included in the diet plan?

In his diet, he chose home-made food instead of any expensive or fancy plan. Include adequate protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, green vegetables and seasonal fruits in the diet. He monitored calories, reduced processed foods and sugar, and made a habit of drinking adequate amounts of water. Apart from this, he also considered good sleep of six to seven hours every day as an important part of his fitness. At the beginning of the year 2026, he gave himself a special target. He decided that by June 27, i.e. his daughter Vedika’s birthday, he would achieve the best fitness of his life.

Changes seen in health also

According to Avneesh Sharan, the real success was not just in weight loss, but in the changes visible in the health report. Between September 2025 and May 2026, his total cholesterol reduced from 278 to 158. LDL increased from 205.2 to 83, while good cholesterol i.e. HDL increased from 51 to 62.8. Whereas triglycerides decreased from 109 to 61.9.
