New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered a big shock after scoring a huge score of 240/3 against Mumbai Indians on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Former RCB captain Virat Kohli was not seen on the field during Mumbai Indians’ run chase. Commentator Simon Doull told that he had suffered an ankle injury. RCB defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in this high-scoring match. After the match, captain Rajat Patidar and all-rounder Krunal Pandya assured that Kohli will be fine. Both were not sure about the seriousness of the injury.

“I don’t know yet, but I think he is fine right now,” RCB captain Rajat Patidar said in the post-match presentation.

All-rounder Krunal said in the post-match press conference, “I have not spoken to the physio yet, but I think he will be fine. There is nothing to worry about.”

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got injured during IPL match

For RCB, who came to bat first, Kohli played an important role in the 120-run opening partnership with Phil Salt and held the other end. Salt hit six sixes and six fours in his innings of 78 runs in 36 balls. Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in 38 balls. He was dismissed by Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya in the 15th over. Jacob Bethel fielded in place of Kohli during Mumbai Indians’ run chase.

Rohit retired hurt

Even in the camp of Mumbai Indians, the concern of injury to their former captain Rohit Sharma increased. He had to seek medical help after the fifth over, but it did not make much difference. Due to hamstring problem, the opener left the field after the second ball of the sixth over. He scored 19 runs in 13 balls and after this did not return to bat again in the run chase.

Next match of Kohli and Rohit

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will get a few days time to recover from their respective injuries. RCB’s next match is against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 15 at their home ground. Whereas, Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home on 16th April.
