His journey from the narrow streets of Hyderabad to becoming one of the most lethal bowlers in the world is an inspiration for crores of youth. In recent times, along with winning the T20 World Cup, Siraj is in the news for another reason and that is his post of DSP in Telangana Police. Two years ago, after the historic victory in the 2024 World Cup, the Telangana government honored Siraj and appointed him as Deputy Superintendent of Police. Since then, the question in the minds of fans is that apart from being a cricketer, how much does Siraj earn as a government officer?

Mohammed Siraj has become a member of the team that won the T20 World Cup twice in a row. Mohammad Siraj, posted as Group-1 officer i.e. DSP in Telangana government, gets a respectable salary. According to the rules, Siraj's basic pay is currently between Rs 58,850 to Rs 1,37,050. Apart from salary, they also get House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Allowance and Traveling Allowance. Not only the post, the Telangana government has also given Siraj a 600 yard plot in Hyderabad, whose market value is in crores. A big jump in Siraj's government salary is expected in future. After the implementation of the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission, the 'fitment factor' may increase from 3.0 to 3.5. If this happens, then Siraj's minimum monthly salary may cross Rs 80,000. Their maximum salary can reach around Rs 1.85 lakh excluding allowances.

Crores of rupees are flowing from BCCI and IPL
Government job is a symbol of respect for Siraj, but his real source of income is cricket. Siraj is one of the richest cricketers in India today. Siraj is part of BCCI's 'Grade A' contract. Under this, he gets a retainership fee of Rs 5 crore annually from the board. Apart from this, there is a separate match fee and performance bonus per match (Test, ODI, T20).

Gujarat Titans will perform in IPL
Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had released him. After this, Gujarat Titans (GT) expressed confidence in him and included him in their team for a huge amount of Rs 12.25 crore. Siraj has played 108 IPL matches so far and has taken 109 wickets. His economy and wicket-taking ability make him the most demanding bowler in the league.

Journey from an auto driver's son to 'Supercop'
As glittering as Siraj's success story appears, the struggle behind it has been equally difficult. His father used to drive an auto in Hyderabad and mother was an ordinary housewife. Despite financial difficulties, Siraj never gave up. Even after losing his father during the Australia tour in 2021, he did not leave the field and led Team India to a historic victory. Today he is not only a world class bowler but also a respected officer of Telangana Police.
