New Delhi. Yuzvendra Chahal, one of the smartest spinners of Indian cricket, has made such a revelation about his personal life and career, which has surprised the cricket world. Chahal, who is ready to take the field for Punjab Kings in the IPL, has decided to take his fitness and dedication towards the game to a new level. While talking on the YouTube show of South African batsman AB de Villiers, Chahal said that he has not touched alcohol for the last 6 months. De Villiers also welcomed this decision of Chahal with applause.

Yuzvendra Chahal is now at that stage of his career where fitness is the biggest challenge. Talking about his new lifestyle, he said, 'I have given up drinking and it has been more than six months now. I am 35 years old now, so I want to be more active and give my 150 percent for my team. Being a senior player, I want the young players in the IPL to learn something from me.

That tease from last season
The last season was great for Punjab Kings, but the defeat by just 6 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the title match broke the entire team. Chahal admitted that the absence of South African all-rounder Marco Johnson in the final cost him dearly. Johnson had returned home to prepare for the World Test Championship final. Chahal said, 'If Johnson had been in the final, we would have definitely won the championship. He bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament and his ability to hit big sixes at the end was very important for the team.

The last final was played amidst injury and pain
Chahal revealed for the first time how badly he was struggling with injuries at the end of last season. He told that after the match against KKR, his ribs were fractured and later his knuckle also got fractured. This was the reason why he was not able to bowl his natural leg-spin in the semi-finals and finals. In the final he took 1 wicket for 37 runs in 4 overs. Chahal has vowed that this year he will take care of his body first so that he can give Punjab its first title.

Yuzvendra Chahal is the most successful bowler of IPL
Even though Chahal is currently out of the Indian team, there is no one like him in the history of IPL. He is the 'all-time leading wicket taker' of IPL with 221 wickets in 174 matches. This time, he not only wants to cross the double century of wickets in the IPL, but also wants to give the strength to the captaincy and spin department of Punjab Kings which was missing last year.
