New Delhi. Foreign players like Blessing Muzarabani, Dasun Shanaka, Spencer Johnson decided to leave the current season of Pakistan Super League and play in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026), due to which the Pakistan Cricket Board got a big shock. These cricketers joined IPL teams as replacements for injured players. After the players defied the Pakistan board, now the same was seen in the commentary panel too. English commentator Nick Knight has left Pakistan Super League and become a part of the commentary panel of IPL.
Famous commentator Nick Knight was earlier a part of the broadcast team of PSL 2026, but on March 27, when Star Sports released the list of IPL commentary panel, Nick Knight's name was also included in it. Now he will be seen commentating in IPL along with legends like Ravi Shastri and Ian Bishop.

This is the second consecutive year when the dates of IPL and PSL are clashing with each other and Pakistan is having to bear the loss due to this. At least three big foreign players have left the PSL to play as 'replacements' in the IPL. Blessing Muzarabani left Islamabad United and joined Kolkata Knight Riders. Dasun Shanaka left Lahore Qalandars and joined Rajasthan Royals. At the same time, Spencer Johnson decided to leave Islamabad United and join Chennai Super Kings.
PCB Chief's displeasure
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is very angry with this situation. He earlier said in a statement, 'Clash of schedules is not that big a deal, but it is wrong for players to break their contracts after being selected in the auction.' He has warned that strict action will be taken against the players who are reneging on their promises.
While the PSL season has started, the IPL blast will begin from tomorrow (28th March). The first match will be played in Bengaluru between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
