Demand of Gen Z Electricians: Nowadays AI is in discussion everywhere, and it has completely changed the world of jobs. But meanwhile, there is a job in Silicon Valley which has quietly become very profitable, and that is the job of electrician. Dirty Jobs TV show founder Mike Roe says that AI companies are now ready to pay salaries worth crores of rupees to the young electricians of Gen Z. Let us know why this is happening.
How much salary are electricians getting?
Mike Roe told in a podcast that he had met some electricians in a data center in Plano city of Texas two months ago. He said, “All the electricians I spoke to were under 30 years of age and were getting an annual salary ranging from 2 lakh 40 thousand dollars i.e. about Rs 2.3 crore to 2 lakh 80 thousand dollars i.e. about Rs 2.7 crore.

Why do AI companies need electricians so much?
In fact, running AI models requires a very large infrastructure, especially AI data centers with thousands of GPUs. To meet the increasing demand of AI, companies are continuously building new data centers and due to this, there is a huge demand for electricians, welders and construction managers at the places where data centers are built.
According to a report by Fortune, construction workers working on data center projects in America are getting about 32 percent more salary than normal construction work, which comes to about $ 81,800 i.e. about Rs 78 lakh extra annually. According to another report, the work of building data centers has now become the construction sector facing the maximum labor shortage across the world. Not only AI data centres, but the demand for other manual jobs like plumber, mechanic and technician also remains high.
