New Delhi. Australia’s former explosive opener batsman David Warner is embroiled in a new controversy. He was arrested on drink-and-drive charges on 5 April 2026 (Sunday) in Maroubra, Sydney. According to the New South Wales Police report, at around 5:30 pm on Sunday evening, the police were carrying out routine checking on Malabar Road in Maroubra. Police noticed that a van stopped a short distance away from the checking site. When officials went near and tested 39-year-old Warner, the report came back positive. He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
