The way cricket is progressing, in the future too there will be players who will choose only limited overs cricket or only Test cricket. Pujara gave examples of Test cricket bowlers who are also successful in IPL, like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Kagiso Rabada. He said that his line and length have been very good in Test cricket, that is why he is being successful in T20 also. Pujara said that he would not advise any young player to stay away from Test cricket, but if a player like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has not played much Test cricket, comes to the IPL and hits sixes against all the bowlers, then there is nothing wrong in it.
Pujara said that BCCI has now started focusing on players only for Test cricket and should prepare 25 to 30 players for the future who do not play in IPL. He said that you have to make separate teams for white ball and red ball, hence in domestic cricket, 25 to 30 such players have to be identified who can play Test cricket for us.
