R Ashwin gives class to Chennai Super Kings team management on Ayush Mhatre’s injury

New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has fiercely targeted Chennai Super Kings (CSK) regarding the fitness of the players. This statement came after the incident, when young batsman Ayush Mhatre was seen injured during the IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He was having trouble standing, yet the team management and coaching staff allowed him to bat. The coach and captain could have called the injured player out but did not do so.

This incident of 18-year-old Ayush Mhatre left Ashwin very upset and he described it as “shocking”. Mhatre came out to bat wearing a heavy knee strap. In the last few matches, he was used as an impact player to manage the workload. During the powerplay itself, he was clearly seen limping while running between the wickets. The physio came to the field and treated him, but despite this he was allowed to continue batting.
