Cancer in Young Adults: In the last few years, doctors have paid special attention to one thing that earlier cancer was considered a disease of increasing age, but now its cases are increasing rapidly even in people of 30 to 40 years of age. Why is this happening? Recently, a new study published in Nature Journal has tried to find the answer to this question. According to this research, the body of today’s young generation is biologically aging faster than before and this change can increase the risk of cancer at an early age.
When does the danger start increasing?
Referring to this study, cardiologist Dr. Afshin Amrani wrote on social media platform X that the age of the body is now determined not only by the date of birth but also by its internal condition. That is, the greater the difference between your real age and the biological age of the body, the greater the risk of disease can increase. In the research, blood samples of more than 1.54 lakh people from Britain’s UK Biobank and health data of more than 10 thousand people from America’s ‘All of Us’ research program were analyzed. Scientists compared people born in the 1950s with people born in 1965 to 1974 and the 1990s. The results found that the pace of biological aging in the new generation is much faster than before.
I’m a cardiologist. A study published four days ago in Nature Medicine just proved something I’ve been trying to tell you on this platform for months: your body is aging faster than your parents’ body did at the same age. And that accelerated aging is driving the cancer epidemic…

What is the danger of the difference between biological age and actual age?
According to research, the greater the difference between the biological age of the body and the actual age, the greater the risk of cancer can also increase. The study also revealed that people whose immune system appeared older than their actual age had a higher risk of lung cancer at a younger age. At the same time, the risk of colorectal cancer was seen to be higher in people whose fat tissue was aging rapidly.

These things start getting damaged with age
Experts say that with increasing age, damage to DNA in the body cells is a normal process. But if this damage starts happening rapidly at an early age, then the body starts aging prematurely. This could be due to many factors like poor diet, obesity, smoking, pollution, lack of physical activity and lack of sleep.
Can it be slowed down?
It is a matter of relief that the pace of biological aging can be slowed down to a great extent. Experts recommend exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding smoking and getting enough sleep. Researchers believe that if people at high risk are identified at an early age, the risk of cancer can be reduced through timely screening and prevention.
