There is big news for lakhs of candidates preparing for Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The Commission has announced the exam date of the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination. According to official information, this examination will be conducted on 26 July 2026 at various examination centers in the state. The time of examination has been fixed from 12 noon to 2 pm.
After the exam date is out, now the full attention of the candidates is on the admit card and information about the exam center. The Commission has clarified that the admit card, examination center and other necessary instructions will be released soon on the official website. In such a situation, candidates have been advised to keep an eye on the Commission’s website and official information from time to time.
BPSC Combined Competitive Examination is among the most prestigious government recruitment examinations of Bihar. Every year lakhs of youth appear in this examination to get jobs in administrative and other state services. This time also a large number of candidates are expected to apply, hence preparations for the examination have been intensified.
According to the notice issued by the Commission, the examination will be conducted in a single shift. Candidates will take the examination as per the scheduled time at the examination centers set up in different districts of the state. Candidates have been advised to reach the center well before the commencement of the examination, so that the verification of documents and admission process can be completed easily.
The announcement of the exam date has come at a time when BPSC had recently released the final result of its 70th Combined Competitive Examination. In this examination, the Commission selected a record 2,027 candidates, which is considered to be the highest selection in state service examinations after independence. This achievement has further increased the enthusiasm of the youth regarding BPSC examinations.
Shraddha Pandey of Uttar Pradesh had secured first position in the results of 70th examination. Four women candidates made it to the top-10, while 45 women were selected in the top-100. According to the Commission, this result was among the best performing results in the history of state service examinations.

In the last recruitment process, a total of 2,027 posts were appointed. Most of these posts were for various departments of Bihar government. Apart from this, posts like Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and Financial Administrative Officer were also included. About 4.83 lakh candidates had applied for the 70th examination, while lakhs of candidates had appeared for the preliminary examination.

Now enthusiasm is being seen among the candidates regarding the 72nd preliminary examination. Instead of starting new subjects, candidates should focus more on revision, mock tests and previous years’ question papers. This will improve both time management and confidence during the exam.

After the admit card is issued by the Commission, candidates should carefully read the name, photo, examination centre, reporting time and other instructions mentioned in it. If any kind of mistake is found, it will be necessary to contact the Commission immediately.
