CM INSPIRE scheme Meghalaya: UPSC exam is considered to be one of the toughest exams in the country. Every year lakhs of youth start preparing for this exam with the dream of taking it, but many times the cost of coaching, books, accommodation and transportation stops their steps. This path becomes even more difficult especially for students from small states.
Understanding this problem, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has announced a new scheme, named ‘CM INSPIRE’. Let us know the complete details. Also, where can the candidates apply for this?
Chief Minister Sangma said that in the last several years, the participation of Meghalaya and its tribal communities in civil services has been decreasing. This is a matter of concern. Now the government has taken concrete steps and decided to provide direct financial assistance to the youth, so that lack of money does not become a wall between their dreams. He told the students that now is the time to change this situation and the government is standing with you in this journey.
Help will be available at every major stage of the examination
The most important thing about this scheme is that the help is directly linked to the important stages of UPSC. Students who pass the preliminary examination will be given an assistance of Rs 50 thousand. Students who will reach the Mains examination will get financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh. That means, as the students progress in the examination, the government will encourage them.

There will be less worry about expenses
UPSC preparation involves a huge amount of money including coaching fees, books, test series, living expenses and travel expenses. Many talented students are left behind just because of this. The objective of this scheme is to provide relief to such students, so that they can prepare without financial pressure. According to government officials, this scheme has been created to reach out to those students who are really working hard but are struggling with lack of resources.
How will the application be done?
Application for this scheme can be made through the portal of Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI). As soon as the application process starts, students will be able to register online. Information about eligibility and required documents will be released soon.
