After this, both the boards mutually agreed to postpone the series. Bangladesh's tour of Ireland could be held sometime in 2027.
As per the pre-determined schedule, the Indian cricket team will reach Bangladesh on 28 August 2026 for a series of 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches. ODI matches will be played on 1, 3 and 6 September, while T20 matches will be played on 9, 12 and 13 September.

To qualify directly for the World Cup, Bangladesh will have to make it to the top-8 by March 31, 2027. If the team is unable to do this, then it will have to play the qualifying tournament.
