New Delhi. Punjab Kings’ star fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has created a new history in IPL. By taking the wicket of South Africa’s Ryan Rickleton, Arshdeep became the first bowler from Punjab to complete his 100 wickets in the IPL. Although this success came on a simple leg-side ball, which Rickleton played straight into the hands of Shashank Singh standing at deep square leg, but this milestone has included Arshdeep in the exclusive club of legendary left-arm fast bowlers like Trent Boult and Zaheer Khan.
This achievement of Arshdeep Singh became even more memorable when he created a sensation by dismissing world number one T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav for zero on the very next ball. An excellent outswinger ball took the outside edge of Surya’s bat and Yuzvendra Chahal took a brilliant catch at short third man. Arshdeep was now standing on the threshold of a hat-trick by taking two big wickets in two consecutive balls, but he missed.

Where he has cemented his place in the list of greats like Trent Boult (144), Jaydev Unadkat (114), Ashish Nehra (106) and Zaheer Khan (102). This achievement was also special for Arshdeep because after a long gap of last 11 IPL innings (21.1 overs), he got his first wicket in the powerplay. With this historic success, he has been successful in creating a distinct identity for himself on the biggest stage of cricket by becoming the first bowler for Punjab to take 100 wickets.
