According to reports, his condition remains ‘extremely critical’ and he is on life support.
According to information released by Shapoor Zadran’s family, his white blood cell count (WBC) has fallen to dangerous levels. Doctors say that his immune system is very weak at the moment, due to which his body is unable to fight the infection. This condition arises when the level of infection in the body increases or there is some serious internal disease. The next 48 to 72 hours are said to be very important for his health.

As soon as the news of Shapoor’s illness spread, prayers for him started on social media. Especially the former cricketers of the neighboring country Pakistan have wished for his speedy recovery. Shahid Afridi spoke to Shapoor’s brother on phone. Afridi wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), ‘Talked to Shapoor Zadran’s brother today. Deeply saddened to hear about his condition. Shapoor, you have always been a fighter on the field, and I know you will win this battle too. Praying for your speedy recovery. Omar Akmal shared some disturbing pictures of Shapoor from the hospital, in which he is seen surrounded by many machines. Akmal wrote, ‘Shapoor Bhai is like my friend. I am wishing for his speedy recovery. Ameen.’

Shapoor Zadran is not just a cricketer but a symbol of the rise of Afghanistan cricket.
