Army has released the recruitment notification for the 68th Short Service Commission (SSC) Technical Women course. Under this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected on 30 posts. Interested candidates will be able to apply online from 8th July 2026 to 6th August 2026. The training of selected candidates will start from April 2027 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) located in Gaya, Bihar.
Only unmarried female engineering graduates can apply for this recruitment. However, girl students studying in the final year of engineering have also been given a chance. The condition is that their final result should be declared by 1 April 2027. Apart from this, provision has been made for special admission in both technical and non-technical categories for the widows of defense personnel martyred in the line of duty.
Who can apply?
For SSC (Tech)-68 course, the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 27 years as on 1st April 2027. That means the candidate must have been born between 1 April 2000 to 31 March 2007. At the same time, the maximum age limit for widows of martyred defense personnel has been fixed at 35 years.
This is how the selection will be done
The recruitment process will be completed in several phases. First of all, shortlisting will be done after examining the applications of the candidates. After this, the selected candidates will be called for a 5-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. Candidates who are successful in SSB will undergo medical examination. After completion of all the stages, final merit list will be released and joining letter will be sent to the selected candidates.

Physical fitness is also important
For selection in the army, not only educational qualification but also physical fitness will be important. Candidates will have to complete the 2.4 kilometer race in 13 minutes. Apart from this, one should have the ability to do 15 push-ups, 2 pull-ups and 25 sit-ups. Candidates are also required to have basic knowledge of swimming for ease during training.

After this complete the verification through Aadhar or Matriculation certificate. After login, select Short Service Commission (Technical) Course and fill your personal, educational and other important information. After checking all the details, submit the application form.
