NEET UG 2026 Exam guidelines: Preparations have intensified for the country’s biggest medical entrance examination, NEET UGC 2026. Lakhs of students are going to appear in this examination, but not only studies but it is equally important to know the rules applicable at the exam centre. Every year many students are stopped at the examination gate due to small negligence. In such a situation, it becomes very important to understand the guidelines of the National Testing Agency. So that you do not have to face any kind of problem on the day of examination. In such a situation, let us tell you today what you should check before NEET exam and what will be the rules regarding Kalwa-Hijab.
There will be strict checking before entry
There will be strict checking of all the candidates at the gate of the examination centres. Metal detector will be used for this. So that no electronic device or suspicious object can go inside. If any kind of metal object is found on your clothes or body then you can be stopped at the gate itself.
Pay special attention to dress code also
According to NTA, students should reach the examination center wearing light colored and plain clothes only. Half sleeve shirt or t-shirt is considered the safest. At the same time, wearing clothes with full sleeves, many pockets, big buttons, zip or heavily embroidered clothes can cause problems in checking and entry can be stopped. You will not be allowed to wear thick soled shoes or high heels. Students have been advised to wear simple slippers or sandals with thin soles, so that checking can be easy.
Complete ban on jewelery and metal items
It is prohibited to carry any kind of metal object inside the exam centre. Girls students should not go wearing earrings, necklace, ring, bracelet or nose pin. At the same time, students should also avoid wearing hard chains or other metal items. Even large hair cultures or hair accessories are removed.

Rules for Kalawa-Hijab and religious items
Separate instructions have been issued for students who wear Kalwa, Kada, Kirpan or Hijab as per their religious beliefs. Such candidates will have to reach the examination center at least 2 hours before the scheduled time, so that their examination can be completed without any haste. If there is any doubt about any item during the investigation, the security personnel can ask to keep it out. Therefore, it is important for the students to cooperate by following the rules, so that the examination process can run smoothly.
What can you take to the exam?
It is mandatory to keep some important documents with you on the day of examination. Candidates must carry a color print out of the admit card, one extra passport size photograph and a valid identity card. The point to be noted is that there is no need to carry a pen to the examination hall, as NTA will provide pens to some students. If water is to be carried, then only transparent bottles are allowed. There is a complete ban on carrying mobile, Bluetooth device, watch, bag, wallet, belt, cap or any electronic item inside the examination centre. Apart from this, any kind of stationery, food items or personal items cannot be taken inside.
