Chennai. India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has confirmed that KL Rahul will bat lower down the order in the third ODI against Afghanistan. And Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the innings with Rohit Sharma. There is a possibility that Harshit Rana, who has recovered from knee surgery, will be fielded in place of Arshdeep Singh.
Ryan ten Doeschate said in the press conference before the match, ‘The diversity in the batting order is amazing. There is no consideration of putting Rahul higher in the batting order. We have to see Yashasvi also. He could not score runs in the last match but he will get one more chance. Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar with five batsmen. Nitish is also a batsman, so there will be no change in the top three from the last match.

The former Netherlands cricketer said, ‘We will make some changes from the first two matches. We want to try different combinations and give everyone a chance. Arshdeep can be given rest tomorrow. This will be applicable for some batsmen also. Despite batting for a long time in the scorching heat in the second match in Lucknow, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are fit.
Ten Doeschate said, ‘Shubman had a problem in the heat and did not come for practice but he is completely fit. Ishaan had shoulder problem but now he is fine.
