Location Access
Nowadays, while installing any app, it asks you for access to your location. Many apps ask for Allow all the time location permission. In such a situation, if you give this permission, the app will keep tracking your every activity in the background. That is why if the app does not need location all the time then While using the app or Don’t Allow option should be selected.
Contacts Permission
Let us tell you that some games, photo editors or normal looking apps also ask for Contacts permission. Although these apps do not need contacts, they still ask for their permissions. With this, the information about the numbers saved in your phone reaches these apps. To avoid this, give Contacts access only to messaging or calling apps. Remove this permission from all other apps.
Microphone Permission
Apart from this, many apps also ask for microphone access even though they have nothing to do with voice recording. In such a situation, excessive microphone permission can become a threat to your privacy. That is why only essential apps like video call, recording or voice assistant should be given microphone permission.
Camera Permission
Nowadays, many apps also access camera permissions which can become a threat to your privacy. In such a situation, if an app does not use the camera yet is asking for Camera Permission, then be alert. Giving unnecessary camera access can be risky for you.
SMS and Phone Permission
Some apps ask for permission to read, send SMS or manage calls. Giving this access to the wrong app can put your sensitive information related to OTP, messages and calls at risk. That’s why give SMS and Phone Permission only to trusted apps like banking, default messaging or calling.
How to check App Permissions?
You can easily check the app permissions in your smartphone. For this follow these steps.
Open Settings.
Go to Apps or App Management.
Select the Permissions option.
Check all the permissions like Camera, Microphone, Location, Contacts and SMS carefully. Now immediately stop the permissions of those apps which do not need them.
