For the first time in 149 years of Test history, this happened for the first time in 1960, when a player took 10 wickets and also scored 100 runs in the same Test match. Australian all-rounder Alan Davidson accomplished this. In the match against West Indies, Davidson took 11 wickets while bowling, while he also scored 124 runs while batting. His best score in the match was 80 runs, while his best performance in bowling was taking 6 wickets for 87 runs. He opened his claws in the first innings also. However, this match held in Brisbane was a tie.

Exactly 20 years later, this feat was repeated again by England all-rounder Ian Botham. Botham achieved the feat of 10 wickets and 100 runs in the match against India. In this match played at Wankhede, this former England all-rounder scored a century and played an innings of 114 runs.
