Central Sector Scholarship Most Popular Scheme
One of the most popular schemes for general category students is the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students. The benefit of this scheme is available to those students who have performed well in the 12th board examination.
For this scholarship, the student must be in the top 20 percent (80th percentile) in 12th. Also, the annual income of the family should be less than Rs 8 lakh. The age of the student applying should be between 18 to 25 years. Under this scheme, assistance of Rs 12,000 per annum is given for the first three years of college and Rs 20,000 per annum in the fourth and fifth years.

AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Daughters
AICTE’s Pragati Scholarship is a great support for girl students pursuing engineering and technical education. This scheme is for those girl students who are pursuing degree or diploma course in AICTE approved institute.
Under the scheme, financial assistance up to Rs 50,000 is given annually to girl students. This amount can be used to meet fees, books, laptops and other educational needs. For this, the annual income of the family should be less than Rs 8 lakh.
Science students can get scholarship of Rs 80,000
INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme is available for students studying science subjects. This scheme is run to encourage talented students in the field of science and research. Students who have performed well in 12th or have secured better ranks in competitive exams like JEE and NEET can apply for this scheme. Selected students are given financial assistance of up to Rs 80,000 every year. Apart from this, they also get facilities related to mentorship and research.
