Women’s T20 World Cup Semi Final: Australia reached the T20 World Cup final for the eighth time, West Indies surrendered in the semi-finals.

New Delhi. Australia’s women’s cricket team has made it to the final of the T20 World Cup for a record eighth time. In the first semi-final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the West Indies team looked defeated by 6-time champion Australia. Australia won by 8 wickets and booked its ticket to the title match. With the stormy innings of Beth Mooney and Ashley Gardner, Australia achieved the modest target of 126 runs in just 13 overs. In the final, Australia will face the winners of the second semi-final of South Africa and England. The final match will be played on July 5 at the historic ground of Lord’s.

The batsmen ruined the West Indies
In the match played at Kennington Oval, West Indies team came to bat after losing the toss and scored only 125 runs losing 7 wickets. Captain Haley Mathews along with Kiana Joseph (16) scored 47 runs in 49 balls for the first wicket. Mathews returned to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs in 28 balls with 5 fours, after which Shamen Campbell came out to bat, but no one supported her at the other end. Campbell made small partnerships and took the team to the score of 83/6 in 15.3 overs.

Campbell returned to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs in 25 balls with 3 fours. From here, Deandra Dottin made a partnership of 42 runs in 27 balls with Janilea Glasgow for the seventh wicket, taking the team to the score of 125/7. Glasgow played an innings of 15 runs, while Dottin remained unbeaten on 26 runs in 16 balls with 4 fours. Before the start of the match, Diandra was seen leaving the field with the help of her fellow players. She received medical treatment for about 30 minutes, after which she came out to bat at number eight. Georgia was out after scoring 16 runs in 11 balls with 3 boundaries, after which the team also lost the wicket of Phoebe Litchfield (4) at the score of 43. From here Beth Mooney made a partnership of 21 runs with Alice Perry.
