How did the name Sachin Tendulkar Marg come about?
It was on 24 February 2010 when Sachin Tendulkar had made a record in his name which created history in the cricket world. Before this he was going through bad form. Critics were also raising questions on his batting. But at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior, he scored the first double century in ODI history and became the first batsman to do so. An atmosphere of celebration was created in Gwalior. The then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh reached the gate of the stadium and Kailash Vijayvargiya was also with him. While talking to the media at that time, Shivraj Singh had announced that a road in Gwalior would be named Sachin Tendulkar Marg. Later the road in the city center was named Sachin Tendulkar Marg.
