Vitamin D Deficiency: Does body ache and bad mood go away without any reason, is this happening due to deficiency of this vitamin?

Early Signs Of Vitamin D Deficiency: Vitamin D deficiency often does not appear suddenly, but gradually shows its effects in the body. In the beginning one just feels a little tired, the mood is not good and the body starts feeling heavier than before. Usually people ignore it considering it as everyday fatigue or stress, but sometimes these signs point towards some deep deficiency.

Functional nutritionist Mugdha Pradhan, CEO and founder of iThrive told TOI that vitamin D is not just a vitamin, but it works like a hormone in the body. When its level is low, the body first gives mild signals and later the effect becomes more visible.

What are the signs of its deficiency?

Fatigue that does not go away even with rest can be a major sign of this deficiency. Many times, even after taking complete sleep, one does not feel energy in the body. According to Mugdha Pradhan, low Vitamin D affects the body’s immunity and the process of making energy in cells. This is the reason why a person always feels tired, as if the body is not able to get fully charged.

Falling ill again and again is also a sign

Falling ill again and again is also an important sign. Occurrence of minor diseases frequently and taking more time to recover from them indicates that the body’s immunity is not working properly. Mugdha Pradhan says that Vitamin D helps in keeping the immune response of the body balanced and due to its deficiency, this balance gets disturbed.

Recognize bad mood

Persistent decline in mood may also be associated with this deficiency. Symptoms like irritability, sadness or brain not functioning properly are seen without any specific reason. Vitamin D affects the chemicals in the brain that control our mood. This is why spending time in the sun makes the mind feel lighter. Apart from this, pain and weakness may also appear in the body without any reason. Mild pain in the muscles, stiffness in the waist or loss of strength are such signs, which people often ignore. With time this problem can also affect the bones.

Lifestyle is also responsible

Today’s lifestyle is also playing a big role in increasing this deficiency. Staying inside the house or office for a long time, lack of sunlight and not taking a balanced diet are the main reasons for this. Mugdha Pradhan advises that if fatigue, mood changes and body pain are felt together, then do not ignore it and it is better to get checked. To prevent this, it is important to spend some time in the sun every day, especially in the morning or evening. Along with this, things rich in nutrition should be included in the diet. However, before taking any kind of supplement, doctor’s advice should be taken.
