He is still at second place in the list of people who have scored most centuries in T20 cricket.

New Delhi. On one hand, everyone was expecting a stellar innings from Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the Indian Premier League on Sunday. On the other hand, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam played a stormy innings, his long wait to score a T20 century finally ended. The former Pakistan captain scored his first T20 century after almost two years. He scored this century for Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 2026 match played in Karachi.

He achieved this milestone on the last ball of the innings, which was bowled by Jahandad Khan. Babar needed two runs to complete his century. He played on-drive and took risks to get the second run. The throw went very far and Babar completed his century by diving.
This was Babar’s 12th T20 century which the fans got to see for the first time after February 2024. He scored a century after 783 days. He is still at second place in the list of people who have scored most centuries in T20 cricket. Only Chris Gayle (22 centuries) is ahead of him. This was also his third PSL century. All three have come for Peshawar Zalmi. Two of these centuries have been scored against Quetta Gladiators, the last century was scored by scoring 115 runs in 65 balls in Rawalpindi in the 2023 season.
