New Delhi. Young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has taken the legendary bowlers from all over the world across the boundaries at the age of just 15, is ready for his international debut. It is considered certain that he will play in the T20 series against Ireland. After this, Team India will go on a tour of England. The selectors have selected him in the T20 team for Ireland, England and Asian Games. Vaibhav will not be allowed to use the dressing room with senior players due to the laws of England.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is going to debut for the senior Indian team in the two-match T20 series against Ireland later this week. After the Ireland tour, Team India will go to UK, where a five-match T20 series will be played against England. Before the series against England, there was news in the British media that due to UK rules, Vaibhav would not be allowed to stay in the Indian dressing room all the time. They will be given their own separate changing room.

Why will Vaibhav get a separate changing room?

Initially it was believed that all this was happening under the rules of ECB and ICC. Now it has come to light that the need for a separate changing room for Vaibhav is actually due to UK laws. ICC has no interference in this, because ICC does not have any fixed rules for U-16 players. This series between India and England is not a part of any ICC event, but a bilateral series.

“The safeguarding regulations do not apply to bilateral series. The India vs England series is not an ICC event and there are no specific rules for U16 cricketers,” a source told Hindustan Times Digital.

Similar rules will apply in Ireland also. Vaibhav will also be given his own separate changing room for the two T20 Internationals to be held in Belfast (26 and 28 June). A Cricket Ireland spokesperson said, “The Indian team has been provided with three separate rooms in the pavilion and has been briefed on the safeguarding laws. We will ensure that all rules are followed, but the BCCI will manage everything in accordance with UK laws. Our processes and policies are in line with UK best practice.”

Earlier, a report in The Guardian had claimed that under the protocols of ICC and ECB, any player under the age of 16 years has to use a separate facility. Due to this rule, Vaibhav will be given his own separate changing room at every venue in the five T20 matches against England. The report also said that Vaibhav will be able to stay in the Indian dressing room during the match and during team meetings, but for the rest of the time he will have to use his private changing room as decided by the ECB.

Growing craze around the young player: Left-handed batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a household name after his explosive performance for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. He scored 776 runs, after which he got a place in the team for the T20 series against Ireland and England as well as the Asian Games. After this he played for India A in the tri-series with Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A.

In the final, he played a brilliant innings against Sri Lanka A and scored the fastest half-century in List-A cricket in just 11 balls. Vaibhav scored 94 runs on 29 balls, which included 10 fours and 8 sixes. Thanks to his innings, the India A team captained by Tilak Verma won the title. During the same tri-series, Vaibhav had to face criticism for his behavior due to a scuffle and argument with a Sri Lanka A player in the group match.
