Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record destroyed: Till now the record of making the youngest debut for India was in the name of Sachin Tendulkar, who is called ‘God of Cricket’. When Sachin made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989, he was 16 years and 205 days old. After this, on the same tour, he also made his ODI debut in Gujrawala at the age of 16 years and 238 days. For the last 37 years, no player could come even close to this record, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi changed this history by wearing the blue jersey of India at the age of just 15 years and 99 days. He has become the first 15-year-old cricketer to play for India.

He was handed India’s cap in the second T20 International match against England in Manchester. Tilak Verma handed the debut cap to Vaibhav. At number six comes the name of former wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel, who took up the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the 2002 Nottingham Test against England at the age of just 17 years and 152 days. After this, the seventh and eighth positions are occupied by spinner Maninder Singh. Maninder made his debut in the Karachi Test against Pakistan in 1982 at the age of 17 years and 193 days and just a month later, in January 1983, he played his first ODI match on the same ground at the age of 17 years and 222 days.

The ninth place in this historical list belongs to India’s legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who started his brilliant career in the year 1998 in the Bengaluru Test against Australia at the age of 17 years and 265 days. Interestingly, at the same age i.e. 17 years 265 days in the year 1955, Vijay Mehra also made his Test debut against New Zealand at the Brabourne Stadium, who comes tenth in this list.
