UP forest guard recruitment 2026: A big opportunity has emerged for the youth preparing for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has released the official notification for recruitment to the posts of Forest Guard and Wildlife Warden in the Forest Department. This is an important opportunity for the people who have been waiting for this recruitment for a long time. Because this time appointments will be made on more than 700 posts.
How many posts will be recruited in total?
According to the advertisement issued by the Commission, a total of 708 posts will be filled. This includes general and special selection of forest guards as well as the posts of wildlife guards. According to the data released by the department, 318 posts of forest guard, 10 posts of wild life guard, 239 posts of forest guard and 51 posts of wild life guard have been fixed.
How will the application process be completed?
The application process for this recruitment will start from 30 June 2026. Candidates will be able to apply online till 20 July 2026. The last date for amendment in the application and adjustment of fees has been fixed as 27 July 2026. This notification was issued on 23 April 2026. To apply for these posts, the candidate must have passed Intermediate from any recognized board. Along with this, it is also necessary for the candidate to appear in the preliminary qualifying examination of UPSSSC. Because on this basis the candidates will be shortlisted for further process.
Recruitment selection process and age limit
To apply for this recruitment, the age of the candidates should be minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be given to reserved categories as per rules. Regular candidates will be given salary ranging from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200 under Level-2 pay scale. Apart from this, in the selection process, first of all the candidates will be called for the main written examination on the basis of PET 2025 score. Successful candidates in the written examination will have to undergo document verification and medical test. Apart from this, physical test and physical efficiency will also be an important part of this recruitment.

Physical Test and Rules
Physical efficiency is very important in this recruitment of Forest Department. Male candidates will have to complete a run of 25 kilometers in 4 hours with a weight of 10 kg. Whereas women will have to run 14 kilometers in four hours. It is mandatory to pass this test. The minimum height for male candidates has been fixed at 168 cm, relaxation in height is given to reserved categories. Apart from this, chest should be 84 centimeters. For female candidates, the minimum height has been kept at 152 centimeters, while the weight should be between 45 to 58 kilograms. In this recruitment, the application fee for all categories has been fixed at Rs 25. A separate fee will be charged for the main examination, while applications will be accepted only through online mode.
