New Delhi: Former wicketkeeper-batsman of the Indian cricket team, KS Bharat had recently announced his retirement. Just two weeks after his retirement, the news has come that he has shifted to Dubai in search of new opportunities. KS Bharat can make a new start in his career in UAE. According to the report of Cricbuzz, this former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has moved to Dubai and is currently exploring possibilities for himself in the cricket ecosystem of this emirate.
As a start, Bharat has been included in the team of a local tournament being organized by the Emirates Cricket Board. This competition started on Friday at ICC Academy Oval-1 in Dubai, in which Bharat has been included in the squad of Team Stallions. Team Stallions is one of four teams competing in the seven-match, two-day white-ball tournament.
KS Bharat will play in ILT20
According to the ECB, this competition has been designed with the aim of developing the mindset and skills required for the longer format of cricket. The other teams participating are Team Falcons, Team Leopards and Team Eagles. Bharat did not immediately respond to Cricbuzz’s queries, but it is understood he may be looking for opportunities in the UAE franchise league ILT20, which is scheduled to be held in November and December.
The players are expected to be auctioned in October and they have ample time to register for the auction. “He has come to Dubai, like many other international cricketers from different countries, and is looking for both short-term and long-term opportunities here,” an Emirates Cricket official told Cricbuzz.
Bharat has played 7 test matches for India
32-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Bharat, who has played seven test matches for India. He had taken the shocking decision of retiring from international and domestic cricket earlier this month. His announcement came after a similar move by Vijay Shankar, who recently accepted the opportunity to play in the Lanka Premier League.
