Team India’s world record in T20I, created history by becoming the first team to achieve this feat

New Delhi. India scored 219/5 in the second match of the ongoing T20 series against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. Team India has touched the figure of 200+ in T20 cricket for the 9th time in a calendar year. With this, India equaled its own record in terms of touching this figure the most number of times during T20 cricket in a calendar year.

Earlier, Team India had touched this figure 9 times in T20 cricket in the year 2024. India did this 7 times in the year 2023. The teams of Japan (year 2024) and Austria (year 2025) have done this 7-7 times. England (year 2022), South Africa (year 2022) and West Indies (year 2024) did this 6-6 times.

Became the first team to do so
For the third time, India has crossed the 200-run mark 7 or more times in a calendar year. No other team in the world has been able to do this even twice, whereas India has made a unique record of doing this feat thrice. Apart from this, this was the 52nd time when India crossed the 200-run mark in T20 International, which is the highest record. South Africa is at second place, which has done this 29 times.

Ishan-Tilak played brilliant innings
Talking about the match, the Indian team came to bat after losing the toss and scored 219 runs after losing 5 wickets in the stipulated overs. Team India had lost its 2 wickets till the score of 29. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer made a partnership of 66 runs in 42 balls with Ishan Kishan for the third wicket. Iyer was out after scoring 25 runs in 20 balls with 4 fours. After this, Ishan Kishan along with Tilak Verma scored 94 runs in 43 balls for the fourth wicket and took the team to a strong score.

Ishaan returned to the pavilion after scoring 81 runs in 44 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours, after which Tilak Verma kept the lead. Tilak remained unbeaten after scoring 60 runs in 29 balls. His innings included 3 sixes and 5 fours. Apart from these, Rinku Singh added 12 runs and Shivam Dubey added 6 unbeaten runs to the team’s account. From the host camp, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarwa, Brad Evans, Newman Nyamahuri and Brian Bennett took 1 wicket each.
