Lahore: There are reports about the Pakistani team, which is struggling with poor performance on the field in the T20 World Cup in England, that there are differences within the team and the atmosphere in the dressing room is very tense. Pakistan Cricket Board has neither confirmed nor denied these reports, but there are reports in social and main media that there are many problems going on in the team.
Pakistan faced its fourth consecutive defeat in the World Cup on Tuesday. The Pakistani team has not been able to win a single match and before the tournament the account was not even opened in the triangular series against Ireland and West Indies teams. Last year, Pakistan stood last in the ODI World Cup.
The report said that there are huge differences between captain Fatima Sana and team mentor Wahab Riaz on selection issues. Before the match against Bangladesh, Sana had expressed her objection to her husband staying in the room of senior player Alia Riaz. One report said:
Ali Younis had to leave the room on Sana’s request. A day before the match against Bangladesh, Alia left practice and went for a picnic with her husband.
Sana did not want Alia to play in the match against Bangladesh but Wahab chose her. Aaliya was a flop and Pakistan lost that match.
Sana told Wahab in front of everyone that he was responsible for the defeat because he could not implement the discipline protocol. Pakistan has to play its next match in the tournament against Netherlands on June 27. The team is already out of the tournament.
