Suryakumar Yadav may return to the team, will have to break the door like ‘Daya’, BCCI’s condition

New Delhi. Suryakumar Yadav, who made India the champion in the T20 World Cup 2026, is out of Team India these days, but the hope of his comeback is not lost yet. A source in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it clear that the selectors have not closed the door for Suryakumar. However, to wear the blue jersey again, he will have to break the door and enter the team like Daya of CID. That is, if ‘Mr. 360’ has to return to Team India, then he will have to show such strength with his bat that the selectors cannot ignore him.

What is BCCI’s condition?
According to a BCCI source, ‘Suryakumar Yadav is not currently part of the team’s immediate plans, but the possibility of his return remains intact.’ The source said, ‘If he scores runs consistently in domestic cricket and impresses with his performance, his name will be reconsidered for selection.’ This clearly means that the selectors have not closed the doors for him, rather the responsibility of his comeback now lies entirely on his performance.

Why were you dropped from the team?
Suryakumar Yadav was struggling with poor form before the tour of Ireland and England. Due to continuous low scores, he was dropped from the T20 team. Not only this, the captaincy of the T20 team was also taken away from him and the selectors appointed Shreyas Iyer as the new captain. In the absence of Suryakumar, better performance was expected from the Indian team, but the results were the opposite.

Team India flopped under Iyer’s captaincy
India’s T20 campaign under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer was very disappointing. The team first lost the series 2–0 against Ireland, which was India’s first bilateral T20 series defeat against Ireland. After this, the team’s performance did not improve even on the England tour. In the five-match T20 series, the first match was canceled due to rain, while England won the remaining four matches and won the series 4-0. In the last match played in Southampton, India had to face defeat by 56 runs.

After the disappointing performance in the T20 series, the Indian team will now play the ODI series against England. In this series, experienced batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return to the team.
