During Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, KKR spinner Sunil Narel became the first foreign player to complete 200 wickets in the tournament. KKR co-owner and King Khan of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan praised his wonderful achievement on his Facebook account and also posted a special message for their decades-old friendship.

Sunil has been with the Kolkata team since joining the tournament in 2012 and has been one of the bowlers who have consistently performed well during this period. By taking the wicket of Arora, Narine became the third bowler in IPL history to touch the mark of 200 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal is still the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar had earlier become the first fast bowler to take 200 wickets. Narine achieved this feat by dismissing Salil Arora during Sun Risers Hyderabad’s innings and increased his number of wickets in IPL from 199 to 200.
