New Delhi. When the teams of India and England face each other on the grounds of England, which is known as the Mecca of cricket, the excitement is at its peak. A similar scene was seen in the first ODI match played at Edgbaston. Indian fast bowlers wreaked havoc on the English batsmen with their balls and within no time the top order of the host team fell apart like a pack of cards. The England team had lost its 5 big wickets on the score of just 80 runs. But, at this most exciting juncture of the match, an incident happened which took the breath away from the players present on the field to the millions of Indian fans glued to the TV screens. This incident was a childish mistake of Indian captain Shubhman Gill, due to which he narrowly escaped from becoming a victim of a major accident and serious injury.
Indian bowlers were completely dominating the match, but something happened on the field in the 17th over of the game which raised questions on the maturity of captain Shubman Gill. The responsibility of bowling the 17th over of the innings was in the hands of fast bowler Prasidh Krishna. England’s dangerous batsman and captain Jos Buttler was present at the crease. Butler played a big shot in the air on an accurate ball from Prasidh Krishna. The ball floated in the air and fell in the area between mid-off and long-off. Young bowler Gurnoor Brar was running from one side to take the catch, while from the other side captain Shubman Gill himself quickly ran towards the ball.
