Facing just 56 balls, he played an unbeaten and destructive inning of 115 runs. The most special thing about his century innings was his strike rate, which was 205.36. Sanju hit 15 brilliant fours and 4 skyscraper sixes in his innings. It was due to his batting that Chennai’s score could cross 200.

Delhi Capitals team, which came to chase the huge target of 213 runs set by Chennai Super Kings, despite the struggle, got bundled out for 189 runs in 20 overs. Chennai won this match by 23 runs. Pathum Nissanka made a stormy start for Delhi, who scored 41 runs in 24 balls, while KL Rahul was out after scoring 18 runs. However, the team faltered due to the cheap dismissal of Sameer Rizvi (6) and captain Akshar Patel (1) in the middle order. Tristan Stubbs raised hopes of victory by playing a fighting inning of 60 runs in 38 balls, but Jamie Overton’s lethal bowling (4 wickets) broke the back of Delhi. In the end, Ashutosh Sharma (19) and David Miller (17) definitely tried, but in front of 3 wickets of Anshul Kamboj and tight bowling of Noor Ahmed, the entire Delhi team was limited to 189 runs on the last ball.

Sanju Samson scored 115 runs in 56 balls

Sanju Samson left behind his disappointing start in the current season of IPL and played an unbeaten century. Due to which Chennai Super Kings, when invited to bat first against Delhi Capitals, scored a competitive score of 212 runs for two wickets. Samson scored 115 runs in his unbeaten innings of 56 balls with the help of 15 fours and four sixes. He got good support from the other end from Ayush Mhatre, who scored 59 runs in 36 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes before retiring out.

Samson scored the fourth century of his IPL career

This is the fourth century of Samson’s IPL career and the first century for the Super Kings. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Samson made a brilliant partnership of 113 runs with Ayush Mahatre for the second wicket. In contrast to Samson’s aggressive batting, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad could not show the expected pace and his contribution in the 62-run partnership for the first wicket was only 15 runs in 18 balls.

Sanju Samson got life on the score of 55

Samson hit many attractive shots during the innings, in which the six hit over extra cover by Kuldeep Yadav was special. He also got a lease of life on 55 runs, when Pathum Nissanka took an easy catch on the ball of Akshar Patel. Mhatre also batted impressively from the other end and scored a half-century and strengthened Chennai’s innings, due to which the team was successful in reaching a big score. Samson completed his half-century in 26 balls, while his century in 52 balls. Whereas Mhatre completed his fifty in 27 balls.

To increase the run rate, Mhatre had to be retired out.

However, the management of Super Kings decided to retire Mhatre to increase the run rate and Shivam Dubey, who came to the crease in his place, scored unbeaten 20 runs in 10 balls with the help of two fours and a six. The only success for the Capitals came to Akshar Patel.
