Brilliant performance by fast bowlers behind Bengaluru’s third consecutive win at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore have made history by winning three consecutive matches on their home ground in this season of IPL, in which fast bowlers have played a big role. At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB bowlers defeated teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants to win.

Last year, in IPL 2025, RCB lost three matches on their home ground, which was the only disappointment in their journey to their first title. Before the start of this season, RCB had a home record of 46 losses and 45 wins in 96 matches, whereas the home grounds of Mumbai Indians or CSK are usually stronger for them. This season, the biggest change in the Bangalore team was brought by their fast bowlers and the team started improving its record on the ground.

Panic of fast bowlers

The first sign of change came on 28 March when Jacob Duffy dismissed Sunrisers’ top batsmen by taking three wickets. Duffy played his role well in the absence of Josh Hazlewood. After the match against Hyderabad, Duffy had said, ‘I am just taking over the place of that great player. Josh did well here last year, so I’m just trying to carry that forward. After his return, Hazlewood bowled brilliantly against Lucknow and took one wicket for 21 runs in four overs, for which he was adjudged the player of the match. He said, ‘I do not have the skill to bowl slow balls like Bumrah or other bowlers. I work on different things in practice and hopefully I will be able to use them when needed.

Hazlewood ready to shout

RCB wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma said after the match, ‘I think Hazlewood is looking fitter and faster than before. He has got rest after the injury, so now he is trusting his body and this is clearly visible in his bowling. RCB also has Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who along with Hazlewood took three wickets. He is troubling the batsmen with his slow bouncers, yorkers and low-speed balls. Apart from this, Rasik Salam is also a useful fast bowler, who took four wickets in the last match. Due to its fast bowling attack, RCB can now win on any ground and due to this it has become the most dangerous team of the tournament.
