New Delhi. BCCI dismissed speculations about Rohit Sharma’s future and said that the third ODI against England at Lord’s on Sunday is not his last match. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI that there is no such discussion that Rohit will play his last international match on Sunday at Lord’s. Saikia said in a special conversation with PTI, ‘There is a lot of speculation in the media regarding the future of Rohit Sharma. I want to emphatically say that there is no discussion that Rohit will play his last match at Lord’s on Sunday. He further said, ‘Rohit is a regular member of the Indian ODI team and will continue to play for the country as long as he is part of the team’s plans. In other words, Lord’s ODI is not his last match.

There is speculation that the Lord’s ODI will be Rohit’s last international match as the national selectors have told him that he is not part of the team’s plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup. This has strengthened the possibility that he may announce his retirement after Sunday’s match or may be dropped from the team. It is noteworthy that he has already retired from Test and T20.
