Bihar Forest Range Officer Recruitment 2026: There is good news for the youth preparing for government jobs. Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released the official notification for recruitment to the post of Forest Range Officer. The online application process for this recruitment will start from 16 July 2026, while the last date for submission of applications has been fixed as 16 August 2026. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website of the Commission within the stipulated period.
Under this recruitment, the selected candidates will get a salary ranging from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month as per Level-6 pay scale. Apart from this, benefits of other allowances and facilities available under government service will also be given.
age limit
The age of the candidates will be calculated as on 1 August 2025. The minimum age for application has been fixed at 21 years. Whereas the maximum age for male candidates of general category has been fixed at 37 years and for female candidates it has been fixed at 40 years. Reserved category candidates will get the benefit of relaxation in maximum age limit as per the rules of Bihar Government.
what qualification is required?
Candidates applying for Forest Range Officer posts must have a bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Agriculture, Forestry or other related subjects mentioned in the notification from a recognized university. selection process
Candidates will first be selected through written examination. A total of 100 multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam, which will be of 300 marks. Questions will be asked from subjects like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Science, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics and Mental Ability. Negative marking of 0.3 marks will be applicable for each wrong answer in the exam. Candidates successful in the written examination will be called for interview and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Final selection will be based on performance in all stages.
