Record of fastest fifty broken, Priyansh's storm in CSK's house, Punjab Kings made the record

New Delhi. In the seventh match of IPL 2026, Priyansh Arya dominated with his stormy batting. This explosive opener from Punjab stole the show with fours and sixes at MA Chidambaram Stadium, the home ground of Chennai Super Kings. Batting first, Chennai scored 209 runs. While chasing the target, Priyansh Arya gave a tremendous start to the Punjab team by batting explosively from the very first over. Along with Prabhsimran Singh, he added 61 runs for the first wicket. Along with this, Priyansh also registered a big record in the name of Punjab.

Punjab Kings completed 50 runs in just 3.2 overs. With 50 runs in 20 balls, Punjab Kings has become the team to complete the fastest half-century in IPL against CSK. Not only this, this is also the record for the joint fastest team fifty at CSK's home ground. Royal Challengers Bangalore had put 50 runs on the board on the same number of balls against Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier match played in 2011.

Priyansh batted stormily, however was out before completing his half-century. This young opener opened his account by hitting a four in the very first over of the innings. He also hit a six on the very next ball. Priyansh did not stop here and hit two fours and a six on the first three balls of the second over. Even in the third over, a brilliant six came off his bat. He did not get a strike in the fourth over, but he hit a skyscraper six on the very first ball of the fifth over. However, Matt Henry took revenge by dismissing him on the very next ball. Henry bowled out Priyansh, ending his innings of 39 runs. Priyansh scored these runs in 11 balls with three fours and four sixes at a strike rate above 350.
