New Delhi. Former West Indies legend Kieron Pollard, one of the most dangerous batsmen in the T20 format, has achieved another historic feat. Pollard, playing for MI New York in Major League Cricket, has joined the club of batsmen who have hit 1000 sixes in T20. Pollard is only the second batsman to reach this milestone. His compatriot Chris Gayle is the first batsman to do so. While batting stormily against Washington Freedom, Pollard hit 8 sixes and reached this feat.

Pollard achieved this feat in the eliminator match of Major League Cricket, in which MI New York faced the team of Washington Freedom. Coming in at number-4 for the MI team who came to bat first, Pollard played an explosive innings with a strike rate above 250. He scored 64 runs in 25 balls. Pollard hit 8 sixes in this innings. This legend needed 7 big shots to reach 1000 sixes.

Chris Gayle holds the world record for hitting most sixes in T20. He scored 1056 in 463 matches. Pollard is now 57 sixes away from breaking this record. Pollard has hit 1001 sixes so far in 745 matches. In this matter, the name of a West Indies legend is also at number three. Andre Russell is in the top-3 with 792 sixes.
