The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the 72nd National Film Awards in New Delhi on Saturday evening. Malayalam actor Mammootty and Bollywood actor Kartik Aryan received the Best Actor Award. Whereas Yami Gautam was chosen the best actress. While actor Randeep Hooda won the Best Debut Director award. Randeep became emotional after winning this award. He received this award for the film ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar’. Akshay Kumar expressed happiness when Aanand L Rai received the Best Director Award in the Non-Feature Film category for ‘Statue of Unity’.
Randeep Hooda became ‘Best Debut Director’
Randeep Hooda’s magic was also seen in the 72nd National Film Awards. The panel of judges selected him as ‘Best Debut Director’. Randeep said- I still am not able to understand
After winning the National Award, Randeep Hooda talked to Hindustan Times. During this, the actor said, ‘I am still unable to fully understand that I have received the National Award for ‘Best Debut Director’ for ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar’. He further told that his journey for this film was very difficult and full of challenges. However, he is happy to overcome every difficulty.
I gave everything for the film
Randeep Hooda is not only an excellent actor, but now he has also attracted the attention of the audience through filmmaking by winning the National Award. He further said, ‘I had given everything for this film as an actor, director and co-writer.’ Randeep wanted to present the story of Veer Savarkar on screen with honesty and truth. He further says, ‘Whatever I faced and endured during the making of this film is nothing in comparison to the life and sacrifice of Veer Savarkar.’
